Hey guys,

Anyone been on the Hummer Test Track in Cary, NC? I wonder if they would rent it out for an event. It looked pretty neat. A little harder than the LR test track.

Thanks,

That track was built by CNC4x4 a couple of years ago...but the Town of Cary shut it down...nothing hard about it...well unless you drive an H2...

There is a couple of tank traps:

A hill:

Some mud if it's rained recently:

And a little bit of "trail". The last I heard was that it is closed...and won't reopen.

Not at all what I saw yesterday. This track has all it's obstacles made out of concrete, sort of like a manufacturer's track. It is across the street from the Hummer dealership on Crash Lane.

Yea, everybody know Caarey (Said in your best snobish accent) can't have DIRT on it's beautifully paved and pristeen streets! it might get my Lexus SUV dirty! (Sorry to those of you who live there.) Looks like a bit 'o fun though.

you may be looking at the rover one.

it is concrete and stone and such. has a few sidehills.

I promise this one is at the end of Crash Lane and there is concrete all over the place. Not the LR one at all.

Go check it out.

Right down at the end of Crash lane is the field where those two tank traps are (were) after that picture session (CNC4x4 2003 recovery day) they added the cement things that you can drive your H2 onto and see how well it articulates... the rest of the track ran from those cement things all the way up to the intersection back in that stand of pine trees that parallel Crash Lane.

cary?

Id rather take my chances on and rockface or mud hole than on cary's pavement... So many friggin potholes i cant go there without needing a post-trip alignment. Not the main roads but half the others that is -chase

I heard tell that they were building ore cement obstacles that weren't as close to those apartments. I believe that was the biggest issue, especially when they or CNC had an event out there. Which was at least quarterly.
