guess it's my turn

It just quit, even the display on the digital thermostat is out.

Checked the breakers, no joy.

Payne is the brand name, supposedly a division of Carrier ?

This is a pack unit heat pump, all in one deal, if it's gonna be too much I'll replace the whole fawkin thing.

Ideas anyone ?

Soon as the sunn gets off that side of the ouse, I'll open it up an poke around, I'm suspecting a card of some sort.

Damn if I ain't a lucky SOB !!

Neighbor, who I thought was out of town for the weekend is an HVAC field supervisor, just happened to be home when I was out pulling the cover off.

We traced it down to the thermostat itself having shit the bed. He just happened to have a used spare laying around, I installed that, and we are up and running.

Of course, just to add drama to the whole situtation a summer storm came thru the area just as I was trying to restart everything. ( It has rained once in the last 3 weeks here)

Gotta love the joys of home ownership !!

Thanks !

lucky lucky!

Must be the Voodoo

I must have shit for luck, cuz when mine crashed it hurt for about 5K(with discount)...did I mention you suck:flipoff2:

Glad you got it runnin' It would bring the suck w/ no A/C this time of year, specially last week...that was a scorcher

Lucky I may have been this time, but after looking inside the unit, I need to plan for replacement, the copper inside is fairly corroded so I doubt it'll last too much longer.

Unit is 11.5 years old now, and it was not a high dollar unit to begin with. I've been told these last about 10-14yrs on average.

So, now I know I need to save my box tops and soup lables, cuz it's gonna need it soon.

Honestly, I think this was my 3 minute warning.
