i have a 2000 chevy 3500 reg. cab p/u. when i take off (and the radio isn't jammin) i can hear water "sloshing" around somewhere in the truck. its not inside the cab, that would be too obvious i know. the sound seems to be coming from in the front around the pass. side. maybe under the dash? i cant figure it out.
anybody got an idea where and why this is happening? i know that in older model chevy's, there was a plug in the trunk compartment of the camaro's and such that could be removed to allow water to drain from the trunk.(which not many people knew, thats why there are so many rusted quarter panels out there)
is there a plug somewhere i can pull to drain this water out?
thanks for any help

heater core maybe, hell idk thats about the only thing i could think of , are ya full on coolent? maybe the heater core is low or somin .. man i wish i know what it was lol

Is it the reservoir or windshield washer fluid tank

something sounds fishey (lol) do you have any leaks on pasenger floor? you may need to lift carpet to see if it is damp. that would tell ya if heater core is leaking. maybe stop up. i hope you get it fixed man have a good one later........

My mom's '89 Chevy 1500 does the same thing. We notice it when you take a hard turn, and it's like the water is running to the side.

I never investigated it because I couldn't come up with any easy answers.

If you figure it out, let me know.

Had a similar situation on a ZJ, Most obvious was a AC condensation drains plugged up like ChrisM said, but that wasn't my issue. Check your Coolant Level. I never would have thought it, but mine ended up being low and I topped it off. After that the sloshing was gone. I still never figured out why it was low. there was no leak and it didn't go low ever again.

IIRC, some of the older Chevys had issues with the drain in the cowl getting plugged and it would do this same thing... idk if that is what it is, but my dads 89 burb sounded like an ocean until the water was drained from in the cowl...

My 99 tahoe does the same thing. Only first thing in the morning or after it sits for a while. I'll post up if any of these ideas fix it. I had assumed it was coolant or washer fluid and never bothered to investigate.

^^^^ Thinking the same thing. Water can build up inside the door and sounds just like what you have. At the bottom of the door at the weather striping there are drain holes that may be cloged with junk.

been thinking about deuces response. my a/c does tend to be moody in the summertime. going from hot to cold. coolant levels may be low. checked the door theory and it was clear

I'd love to know the answer to this as well. My 95 has the same issue. Door is clear, coolant is full, heater core does not leak and I've fished a coat hanger up the condensate drain to make sure it was clear. I'm going to check the cowl tomorrow.

i had a 2000 blazer that the coolant wasnt low but there was a air pocket in the system and it did that.. i burped the air pocket out if it and it went away.

i say ac drain or cowl vent pluged. ac drain is on the outside of firewall just above passenger frame rail. use compresed air to clear it out. if water does not gush out after blowing into it then pull the cowl vent and blow the drains in the corners. i have seen the cowl on those trucks fill to the point that it reaches the fresh air vent and leak water into the heater box filling the pass. floor so lift your carpet to make sure its dry so that it doesent rot carpet and floor pan.

my blazer does the same thing ... i have a vented cap on my radiator and i just vent it to let the air out and it goes away..

if it is there the whole time you give it gas then it sounds like the same thing i had

x3.. it it probably either low coolant or an air pocket. it sounds like water sloshing under the center-pass dash area. just as others have said check your cooling system for low coolant or air in system. not sure if anyone mentioned it but does your heat work good? if not this is a sign of air/low coolant.

my heat is fine. ill keep looking around.. floorboards are dry. ill try burping the system and blowing out the cowls
