Ideas on converting a 2wd ZJ to 4wd

I have a 97 ZJ that i am going to convert into 4wd if i come up with a simple idea to do it, is there a way to convert to 2wd tranny to accept a 231 or other case?? Or could it be possible to divorce mount a 231 behind the stock tranny now??

Any ideas, or any one that has worked on this same problem
 
I'm just guessing but i would guess you would need a 4x4 tranny ( Think the out-put housing on a 2wd is different ) and T-case, Linkage, Driveshaft and front axle.. Mabe a new cross-member?.

But i dont know if the wiring for the tranny would mesh with my harness or what i would have to do.
 
You can use that trans you just the 4x4 tail section there is a good write up on jeep forum I'm on my phone or I would post the link
