I have a 1985 4runner and after installing new wheels with 3.50in bacspacing I get alot of play in the steering. I checked a bunch of forims and the conclusion was to replace idler arm bushings.....I got the bushings and grease seal from the dealership yesterday. I checked autozone and a few other places to see pics of the idler arm, but cant find it on my 4runner. It says its supposed to be on the passenger side frame rail...only steering components on mine is the tie rod connecting to the knuckle...am i missing something?

Thanks

been a while scince i have owned my 84 and 85 Toys but I think that the idler arm is only on 2wd of that year and it was on all 4wd IFS 86-95 Runners. The idler arm is kinda like a steering box but is just a joint with bushings. Follow the drag link from the steering box to where it connects. If it has an idler arm then it is dirrectly on the opposite fram rail of the truck if it goes to the axle then it has no idler arm. (i dont think you have one)
