Ignore option

This is not a woe, but a question. What does the 'Ignore' option do when you set it for a particular user? Will it prevent me from seeing threads/posts by that user, or prevent the user from IM'ing me? I am curious about this function.

Basically, you ignore all content from that person. They can start conversations with you, but they won't show up in your inbox. You also won't see posts or threads created by them. I'm not sure about quotes... like if I quoted somebody that you're ignoring... but I believe it hides those as well if the quote is formatted 'properly'.
