When truck warms up cuts off. (toyota) 'popping noise'

when my rebuilt 22r motor warms up it trys to cut off unless i mash on the gas then it idles right for a couple minuates, then trys to cut off again. and when you rev it up it makes a popping noise when let off.

im about to get rid of this toyota and get me a jeep!! haha

anyone?

didn't you just replace/rebuild the carb on this ride ?

sounds to me like the float is sticking, and maybe the fuel cut solinoid is NOT working ( cut off fuel when you turn off key, to prevent a back fire and or run on condition )

just a few ideas, I hate carburators, Aisin carbs especially !!

If you're going to keep it carbed stick a Weber on it. Stock Yota carbs suck.

yeah it was a reman carb, i thaught about the weber kit but i dont have 450$ right now.

the truck isnt flooding or nothing it dont backfire it just makes a poping sound sometimes.

i will check that stuff Blkvoodoo .

what would be the best way to get rid of the carb? how to do so? i have a couple intakes off a 22re motor but dont know if there any good.

ill probally take it back and try another

Got a weber and fi setup for sale. PM for info

If yo ureally are thinking of changing, swapping a complete EFI system off a 22re (e.g. what Snppy has) is teh way to go.
You need all teh associated ocmponents though - complete intake, air box w/ AFM, and especially teh hwole wiring harness and the ECU module.. Basically eveyrthing that is connected to something touching the passenger side of the motor.

im interested in keeping it carbed but want it to run decent. and spent all the money doing the rebuild to motor.

i'll go against the grain. the toy carb is awesome when in tune. (However, it is one of the most complicated carbs i've ever rebuilt.) I hate the weber, but it's a stupid simple carb.
Take your rebuild back, get another, or find someone that rebuilds them, and get one from them.
I'd always stick with 'yota carbs over the weber. but slowly collecting parts for a F.I. swap is your end solution

Aisin carbs are actually very good carbs if you know what to do with them. I am no pro, but I have had my share of problems with mine and I had to learn it. I would start by..... capping off ALL of the emissions shit on it. Leave the bottom rear hole on the base plate open for the Vacuum advance from the distributer. Make sure that you have the vacuum advance from the dis. going to that hole. CAP OFF ALL others. Once you eleviete all of the emissions BS...... It's easy to figure out from there.

My chit is still on a carb, and does great off road. Do I have problems with it..... sometimes, but it usually turns over by the time the carb gives me problems.
