I keep an Excel Spreadsheet of my different accounts and all the things I buy, and I've been doing so since about 2.5 years ago, got bored to day and tallied up some stuff (excel is tha shiznit btw) and made an astounding discovery that made me aware of just how mad my obsession with what I do is. But to make myself feel better I'm calling it my reason for being way more hardcore than all you loosers

Yea here's a small list of why I am, in fact more hardcore at 4wheelin than probably 98% of ya'll here :driver:

--------------------------------------------------------------

- I have spent over $19,000(have documentation) in junk for my Z71 Jeep and Z71 Truck over the last two years, while in college, without a job, was not givin $$ by my parents, and did not use my college loan $$
With that being said all of that money came from me buying and selling cars and or parting them out for a'll ya'll haters of when I had all the random junk. However in retrospect that $$ would have payed off just over half of my college loan, in hindsight kinda sucks I spent that much but I probably wouldn't do it any differently. Allthou towards the end I stopped making $$ and it all went to fixing my Z71 truck and my Z71 Jeep and now I have a total of like $200 I think :shaking:

- I have a Bogger tattoo on my left arm

- I am skipping my College Graduation from NC State for the Uwharrie 4x4cross race that I will be spending probably the entirety of next week down there getting helping to get ready and messin around
Kinda a last hurrah for me before I have to find a job and become part of the real world

-------------------------------------------------------------

Just thought I'd put that out there for all the haters that think cause they have a

"Jeep" or "coils" or "37's and below" or anything from "poison spider" Or another gee I have no talent, individualism, or sense of personality, and have allot of $$ "buggy" owner

makes them think they are inherently better than me :flipoff2:

BWahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

DISCLAIMER: the last few comments are all in jest, CTFO before you get your panties in a knot cause I called out Jeeps and Buggies and whatnot

.

hehehe, I can tell you're not married...you quickly learn not to keep any receipts or data that will show what your hobbies cost you... If your DW were to find out that you spent $7600 per year on your toy, no matter the source of the money, you are doomed. :D

My old man once told me "If you think you're hardcore, you're probably not..."

No way man I'm only 22, hahaha, but yea I hear what your sayin thou

My old man once told me "If you think you're hardcore, you're probably not..."

True but its sounds better than I'm a dumb @$$ for spending that much :shaking::rolleyes:

mein Freund, der ist korrekt!

If my ex knew how much I had spent on one of my hobbies... she would have been an ex much sooner!!

OH MAN this is SOOOO true.

I'm with you Ricky, I keep tabs of everything on Excel. Up to $178 spent on the "$30XJ". Grrr.

However, I keep said spreadsheeets well hidden, and have NO formal docs of anything anywhere the wife can find. My "Toy Fund" consists of an envelope of CASH that stays hidden from sight. when I sell soemthing, it goes into the envelope in cash. When I buy - out of the envelope.
This keeps all the transactions outside of the "family" bank accounts and the DW's wathfull eye. We BOTH agree that this is the best way.

We all know the expression... (her) ignorance is (my) bliss lol

And we all gotta have some fun. I won't mention what 19,000 at 22 can do for your retirement.

I will say that I bought my first Jeep in 1986 for $2000. If I had put two grand into Microsoft stock in 1986 (who knew?), I'd be living on a boat in the Caribbean about now.

I have already figured out that be best/only way to maintain peace is to maintain confusion and keep them in the dark. :) My goal is to have so many of one thing, she will not even notice additions. For example, guns...the gun safe is full now...I can bring home one more, slip it in...she looks inside the safe...it's just one more black or silver thing, just like all the rest. If I only had 4, boy she'd notice a fifth added in. Same with Jeeps, although I'm not there yet, still few enough to count, but I'm working on it.

In case my DW reads this at work tomorrow, I am doomed. In that case, be watching the for-sale section. :D

Oh dude you don't have to tell me, My degree I just finished was in Business Finance with a minor in accounting, def got some schooling on retirement funds and a crap ton on stocks/bonds/treasuries/economic patterns etc.

I'm just betting on the fact that if I do something just crazy enough the Z71 Jeep will become infamous and I will be able to sell Tshirts with its picture on it for my retirement . . . . . :shaking::lol:

btw: It probably obvious but what is DW . . . something wife?

lol, ricky. i spent almost 30k building a truck that i never saw run!

i am slowly approaching the $11K mark on my tj and hardly anything to show for it. ricky already pretty much called me out with the whole poison spyder thing.

just wait till i get my 20" chrome rims and 40 some odd inch tires, then i will be hard core :flipoff2:

ps. i really am thinkin about doing the above statement so someone shoot me now

coulda woulda shoulda...

I heard a guest speaker at school talking about his lucky investment.

Day 1- A computer tech business opened up at $2 per share.
-He put $16,000 into the company buying 8000 shares.
-Now down $16,000

Day 2- Shares jumped to $265 per share.
-He Cashed out.
-He now has a profit of $2,104,000

Day 3- Shares went down to $8 per share.

Not bad... roughly $87,666 per hour.

Guess Leslie and I are different. We have our money, not my money her money. She knows every penny that has been spent, and some of it, has been spent by her.
Wont even guess how much I have in my rig, I might break down and cry! LOL

Ricky, seems to me your wheelin and dealin has financed your hobby. Not many of us can say that.

I'll admit that skipping graduation for an event is dedication..

But pouring money into a POS isn't hardcore, it's just dumb. :flipoff2:

Kinda hard to wheel on a boat......:shaking::beer::bounce2:

J/K....hindsight is always 20/20, even w/ one brown eye.

D

Me and the wife share everything. But she never tells me what not to spend, she likes her nice cushy sit her ass on thee couch and watch price is right until time to pick he boy up from school routine she has.

That said there is a fine line between fanatical and clinically insane....

that's been my master plan all along....:huggy:

Her money is her money and my money is our money. My wife could care less what I spend as long as we keep living indoors and have some eggs in other baskets. Oh yeah and she swapped out another 3rd member, did some wiring and a few other things to get her Sammi ready for the comp at Gulches this weekend, I wasn't even home. Doesn't care what I spend on my hobby and can work on her own stuff....keeper.

yeah I guess I am pretty obsessed as well. I work full time as an accountant. I keep a spreadsheet at work that has all the parts I need to order and when, as well as the work I need to finnish and deadlines. To keep on track I input how much I make every week into the spreadsheet, its something like 20% of my check is Jeep payment, 35% buys parts, 10% pays off part of my credit card so that I can buy more parts, and the last 35% is pays whatever bills and gets me to my next check. I am 21 and live at home and I've never totalled it up but this is my second build on the jeep and I've got over $10K in this build so far and I still have another 5K to go.

Unfortunately, I'm lazy.
Wife is definitely NOT.
So she does ALL the finances.
She keeps track of every penny I spend on the jeep.
(including oil changes, etc)
And when she's angry and trying to prove a point, she rounds in gas too.
That's when I know she needs either a diamond or a piece of art.
:(

How can you be so hardcore with 1 bogger? Bad Ass uni-cycle

I'll admit thats dedication, I really love the sport but I don't think I could do that.

wwwhhhtchshhhhhh (that's a sound of whip cracking, btw.)

Yeah i was wondering what DW is as well? Guess we are not in the loop Rick.

I like how this went from a thread about logging finances onto a spreadsheet to how everyones wives have control over their spending habits.... Thats why I just chose to play the field. Theres too many hot women in the world for me to settle down to just one and have her nag in my ear all the time.

You are hardcore tho man! Hardcore in debt now!!
