Hello all,

CNC4x4.org has setup a inclement weather plan for the Raleigh / Triangle area..

we will be assisting Tammy Lynn Center , Urban Ministries, men and women shelters, hospitals, etc..

The centers need employees to work 24hr a day so they need to make sure staff can get to work and home even in bad weather..

so the plan:
These facilities will be contacting me by cell or email and give me the address of employees that need help. I will then google map there location and find drivers that are close to go pick up the employees and bring them to work.. once we get people to work, then drivers will need to bring people from work back home to get some rest..

All these facilities are asking there staff to come in early tonight so Saturday and Sunday will probably be the busy days..

If you are in Raleigh area and have a 4x4 with winch/recovery gear and would like to help please contact me so I can add you to the list.

I need your name, phone numbers( cell and Home), your address, type vehicle and how many people you can carry.

this is 100% volunteer and you will not get paid to do this.. It is just a way that we the 4x4 community can step up and help those in need.

CNC4x4 has done this for many years in the past and we have decided to step up and be ready to help again this year.

Remember if you are a driver your own vehicle insurance covers you and your passengers. also please be professional, no hot rodding with people in your vehicle. Slower is better in bad weather.. we are there to help not get people stuck on highways :)

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help..

Awesome idea Ken.
Years ago I used to monitor the scanner. I would here of a vehicle stuck or an old lady needing her furnace lit, or something like that, call the PD and they were happy for the help.

Great thing your doing! Jsut wish I wasn't 60 miles west of you I would volenteer in heart beat for something like that.

PM sent.

I wonder who I would need to contact, at the Hospital about doing something like this...around Winston or Statesville?

Which department should I talk to?

around Raleigh if you just show up to the hospital and ask one of the front security officers or admins they will tell you were to go.. when driving for Hospitals at least around here they will require you to sign a waiver.

Some hospitals even have signs that say drivers please enter here.

trust me they will be very thankful for the help.

right now we have 10 drivers lined up..

and we have 4 clinics that are on my list..

I am sure my phone will start ringing tomorrow AM..

I need one more person pickup in north Raleigh and taken to downtown Raleigh..

if you are available please reply or PM me

thanks

man what a day.. we shuttled around 22 people yesterday and have already done 8 this AM.. may be a long day again today :)

Well by my count we shuttled a total of 32 people that I got calls on.
I know a few others took people home when they got to a location so I am sure there were more people helped..

Had total of 11 drivers volunteer.

I fielded well over 100 phones calls

But I want to Say THANK YOU to all that volunteered and to all that helped..
