Infinity Injector Problems

I have a 98 QX4 that has problems with the injectors. The tach will not move on start up and the injector will not pulse. However the plugs do have spark. Once the engine is prodded with starter fluid the computer starts to pulse the injectors and the engine runs fine.

All fuel lines have been checked and rechecked, the fuel pump is new and the filter recently replaced.

Could the module pickup from the distributor to comp be going out or is there a wire that could simply be broken. I'm checking the coil in a few as well as the other possibles. Just trying to eliminate some time.

This vehicle ran for a few weeks after the fuel pump was replaced. The computer was replaced recently as well.

Thanks

Sounds to me like the cam/crank position sensor isn't picking up right either

a: during cranking - (I.e. you spray starting fluid in there, which instantly fires the motor, and you release the key to "run", and it picks up)
b: at slow speeds (at the 250 or whatever RPM the starter cranks it at)

Interesting that you get spark...

starter fluid!!!

You may want to check your fuel cut valve, it probably is activated by vaccum. (as Toyo) If starter fluid get it running and it keeps running, there is a possibility , for many reasons, there is not sufficient vaccum to open the valve. Once it starts the vaccum increases greatly. Just a thought.

I do have the fuel pump running and pressure at startup or key on, no injuector pulse until after the motor starts.

Bigwhite ifyou have the wiring schematic for the tach signal or pulse wire from the dist. to the comp I would appreciate it. Fax is 910-590-3104 send me anything you feel would help. Thanks

This vehicle is aggravating. Started evrytime through out the day yesterday, no problems, then wouldn't hit last night. I haven't tested the crank sensor yet Rich sounds like a likely candidate.
