I replaced my injectors on my 6.5L this weekend and now I have a knocking noise in the motor that wasn't there before I did the injector change. Anyone got a idea to what it may be?
There are several things that could cause a knock on a diesel but a leaking injector (one that dribbles fuel instead of shutting completely off) will cause a knock that sounds similar to a rod bearing and will usually cause a greyish-white smoke if it leaks bad enough. Maybe one of your new injectors is bad. To figure out which it is you can crack the injector line open with the engine idling and if the knock goes away thats the bad cylinder.
