I was of the understanding that a vehicle 35 years or more is now exempt from inspections.
My question is, do I need to DO anything, other than scrape off the old, expired sticker and keep my registration handy?

Print out the applicable code from the DMV site and keep it in your glovebox.

Be sure what date you go by. My CJ was mfgd. in Dec of 1972, so technically it is 35 years old this December. But it is a registered 1973 model, I wouldn't be surprised to run into some JBT that interpreted that as being OVER 35 years old only at the last day of 2008 (2008-1973=35).

I haven't had any trouble with my old cars, I just scraped the sticker off

I havent had any trouble with my 68 Camaro. The last inspection on it was in 02 and I havent taken it off the windshield....

Mine was manufactured in Sept of '71.
My inspection expired at the end of last month.
I guess I will just scrape off the old sticker and go from there.

that should make you happy

At the shop that I work at we have a lot of cars that fall in to this group. None of our costomers have had any trouble. There is an 87 camero that comes in with an outdated sticker of 7/2001 go figure. There is also a NC that lets you use an old tag from the year that the car was made in steed of the DMV isued tag. I am not sure how old the car must be, but I have sesn it done on a 67 ford. The real tag must be in the car and shown on request of Law in forment. The owner of this old ford has severel older cars and dose this with all of them. he keeps a copy of the law in the glove box.

that said just pay someone for a sticker like you have in the past. Cus there is no way that jeep passed. Just kidding

Found it!

My Bronco was built in Jan '72. So I just left the old sticker on the windshield, it ran out in 2002. I also run a vintage 1972 NC plate with my current plate/registration in the glove box. I've only been asked if it has seat belts at the license checks. And it does have the factory lap belts till I get the cage built.
