The 3.3L in my 02 frontier is tired. I had a dealership do a complete fuel system service, injector clean, intake flush, new spark plugs, etc. This was about a year ago and I did not notice any difference. My truck has 33's and a lot of steel on it so it really struggles on the highway. The truck will not hold cruise control at 70mph and I can not maintain 65mph on the highway without dropping down a gear to 4000rpm. Anyway, I want to see if I can get a slight increase in highway performance with an intake.
My question is, should I actually expect to see any difference in performance with a cold air intake, specifically, AIRRAID.
Also, will a throttle body spacer work well with a cold air intake, or is it a waste of money? I read a couple reviews of people who said the throttle body spacer helped, but then the performance was compromised when they added an intake.
Should I try just the intake? Just the throttle body spacer? I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler with dual pipes running out the back of it, and I hope that an intake and exhaust system will compliment each other and help me out with a few hp. Any input?
