Hey guys, I hope this is the right section for this question. I saw a write up in Petersons OFFroad of a bronco that had swapped his rear drum brakes for new disc brakes / I have a 1994 F-150 with 38's and was wondering if I should do the same. The truck didn't stop good when I had 35's on it. :driver: Anybody ever done this?? Thanks

I vote you go for it. Never done it on a Ford, but I hear it makes a world of difference in the toyotas.

I am swapping my drums to disks right now on my ford 9. It isn't bad at all, not to expensive either. I say go for it.

Good deal!! Thanks guys for the info. What kind of system are you using for your conversion?? I mean the name brand, doing it yourself or having some one do it?? Any infor is much appreciative.

That's the hard part. Trying to figure out what parts to use. Good luck.

I have a 9" rear and I am using front rotors and calipers for the matching front 44 out of an F-150. For caliper brackets I just bought some weld on brackets from ruffstuffspecialties. I am pretty sure that there isn't a rotor that fits the 9" shaft perfect because of the taper in the rotor. So keep in mind that if you are doing a 9" you'll either have to take a little off the shaft or the inside of the rotor to get it to fit.
