Interesting

That is interesting, but why if it costs 7 bucks a year to run a website (godaddy.com) is she asking for donations to cover such expenses? Im confused

Intersting indeed... interseting that the colonies were formed from those that escaped Religious persecution only to bring it back up when saying what kind of person should lead the country... Stiring the pot :D

I think it wasn't so much of an issue with religious persecution as much as it was a requirement that they worship exactly the same way. The church of england was the dominant church and held sway over the kings and queens and demanded that everyone worship by their rules. It would be like saying now that every one was to worship the same way that the Baptist worship, believe the same things and if anyone wanted to worship like a penticostal then the penticostal would be arrested, property seized and maybe even put to death. That's why it is written into the constitution that we have freedom of religion. Not freedom from religion. We have the right the worship what ever way we want where ever we want. The Government can't force us to worship, nor put us in jail if we do or don't.

"Religious persecution is persistent mistreatment of an individual/group by another group due to their religious affiliation, in the absence of Religious toleration or Freedom of religion and Religious pluralism.

Often it is the persecution of individuals within a group in the struggle to maintain their religious identity, or the abuse of power by an individual or organization that causes members of a religious group to suffer. Persecution in this case may refer to unwarranted arrest, false imprisonment, beatings, torture, unjustified execution, denial of benefits, and denial of civil rights and liberties. It also may refer to the confiscation or destruction of property, or incitement to hate among other things."

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

And I'm still waiting on a reply from the lady
