Vehicles much more capable then that run D300's without any issues. Do it.

Mine held up fine to a v8 and 42s. I did upgrade the rear output after a while, but not because I broke it.

There seem to be success stories and horror stories. Some people break D300's with a 6cyl and 35's, others have great success with larger motors and bigger tires. If you can find one for a good price, I think it is a good swap. I have one in my TJ and have had no durability issues with it at all.

I like my D300, it seems to hold up to my 302cid and 35's with me behind the wheel. lol

thanks yall im looking in to the 300 bc my 208 i have right no will not stay in 4wheel so time to up grade sins im up grading to 1 ton axles i have just broke my sec 12bolt so im tired of having the same problems

make sure to upgrade the outputs and you should be fine. sometimes the case cracks but that is usually caused when metal gets caught between the gears and binds up. A stak 300 case is a good upgrade if this happens down the road

Edit: FYI, I'm running a Dana 300 (with output shaft upgrades and 4:1 gears) in my buggy with 47" LTBs and a GM 6.0 motor. It does front digs pretty good. Its held up to the few times I've had it out :)

Another thing I see a lot of guys do on pirate is they make a girdle around the inspection cover. Seems to be one of the common places that starts to crack first.
