Wife, etc think I'm going thru a second childhood w/my passion for Jeeps/Jeeping/offroading, etc. At 65 I'm way past my 2nd childhood! Over the years I've had the pleasure of owning 5 Jeeps and the memories are countless. Lived in the fourcorners area of the West for a few years (Durango, Co.) where 4wd vehicles are the norm. Good to see the rise in 4 wheeling here, as well as a respect for our sport and the environment. Not writing a book, so I'll close for now... but leave with the question, is it just me? Or are there others out there?

life is a playground...the older you get, bigger the sandbox is.

I've met many people your age that enjoy wheeling. Some have recently gotten back into the sport and others have been doing it for years. You're not alone.

I am in my 30s and my wife used to say the same thing (even though I have been wheeling ever since we meet), I guess she thought I would grow out of it. Now that she and my boys are involved more in it (when we meet she had no interest in going along with me, wheeled allot less then), She will not be left behind on a wheeling trip now.

Lucky guy. Can't get my wife to go with me. Oh well, we're separating anyway. Going wheeling is #1 on my pre-requisite list for the next girl. :D

I am about the only one in our group that has the wife and kids with me about always on the trail, She has even stopped getting out when we hit rough part of the trail. She is even attractive (go figure), I consider my self lucky :D

That is cool.

Second childhood? why not.. enjoy it while ya can..

Our car club has a 68 year old guy in it with a 442 cubic inch LSx engine in his '98 Corvette.. he keeps it immaculate, but then drives to the track, bolts on slicks, runs 10.2's, and drives home.. and he's the FIRST to re-pave the street if someone even whispers the word "burnout"..

And he does damn near all the work on the car himself!

I think it is great! My dad(63yrs. old) just retired in march and he loves helping me build my YJ. Now if I can just get him to buy a jeep and we can work on these things together.
It is so funny, I can be under my jeep and my dad is barking instructions to me on how to set up everything. But when I ask for him to grab a wrench, he tells me he is just there to help. Ya got love it.

My dad is only 47, but after bringing him along to the ECORS race this past week I have got him interested, he talked all day about building a buggy after watching the C class, has gone out and bought a welder, and now wants me to ride with him to South Carolina tomorrow to look at a jeep for a trial toy because he wants to drive at URE when my brother and I go next. I told him he can drive mine its not an issue but he wants his own. So we shall see :D

Its a good test, if the girl is fine and has fun with a rollover, you know shes a keeper.
