im building a square shaft and i dont know anything about the different joints. this is the one i have, it came stock on the tcase side of the front shaft on my ifs runner, is it strong, or should i get a different one? im running a 22re. i was just gonna use this one till it breaks, but its alot of grinding to get the round peg to fit in the square hold so id like to only do it once.

it won't be as good as that style joint that came in solid axle configurations. They had a greater range of travel then the IFS version. you can take it apart and clearance certain areas (google a writeup) and get it close. As far as strength, it'll be fine. I built a front shaft with this style joint (clearanced) and tri lobe agricultural shaft and it never failed on me.

Toy joints are strong. But as mentioned, the ifs joints have limited travel. Clearance it, and go from there
