Well I got my rig just about finished today, so I decided to check the brakes and other things by climbing some trees. After about 5 or 6 climbs I heard a loud bang and knew it wasn't good. I broke an inner pro rock d60 35 spline shaft and yet another high steer arm. I am broke and this just cancelled my tellico trip for the dixie run. This just blows major chunks!!! Any way I know all you want to see is the carnage so here is a few pics.

awwww fuuuck, Greg...

Though that is some sa-weet carnage!

Time for Sunray's 1550.. :D

pure stupidity i guess. From now on I am swearing off Tarzan impressions.
at least i was up in the tree a good 5-6 feet before it let go. I think it was residual damage from when i broke a stub shaft a long time ago. I have since had to replace the stub, the warn 35 spl. lockout and now a inner, stub and ujoint. that side has been officially busted.

oh yeah, dont turn your wheel while climbing trees, that whole angularity of the axle versus strength lesson escaped me.

stub shaft $109
inner shaft $300
u joint $65
high steer arm $250

DRIVING THE JEEP AFTER 1 1/2 YEARS OF RECONSTRUCTION:
:kaioken: NOT PRICELESS :kaioken:

dayum, that has got to suck. You sure your not getting any binding anywhere? Try giving dynarape a call and see if they will warranty it - worth a shot.

that axle warranty ran out 2 yrs ago, but they seem genuinely concerned about all the problems i have had with it.
At this time i am still waiting for them to call me back with the new reduced prices in leui of all my breakage, two days and still waiting............!

i didnt know you had a ball joint 60...interesting. just throw some normal (non chromo that is) shafts in there and head out to tellico with us

DYNATRAC SUCKS FOR SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN BLOWN OFF BY THEM AND NOW ITS AWNNN.....
they now closed up for the night and left me hanging again.

I am way too spoiled by the superior customer service skills at the rock shop.

my axle is a custom width and needs to be special ordered, i am buying replacement shafts, (hardened alloy) and will be ordering chromolly and ctms when i can afford it (1600.00 in shafts alone)

DYNACRAP

here is my opinion of dynatrac

well dynatrac finally called me back friday to work something out. I still have to pay for the stuff but at least its not full price. while they were feeling generous i hit them up for some other items like the upgraded ribbed cover. i am supposed to have all the stuff next week sometime (ups ground from L.A.).
The axles are strong as sheeite, i just sometimes give em a little to much hell i guess. upon dissasembly i found that i had also twisted the splines on the inner shaft.

The six million $ bionic jeep may just yet be in tellico this year after all!!!
