J-10 Dana 44 -> JC Axle swap

Has anyone swaps widetrack D44s from a J-10 into a CJ7 before?

I'm looking to get rid of my AMC 20.....

im sure plenty of people have. pretty easy swap. gotta move spring perches. rear could be offset which wont be a huge problem. if you change the rear you might as well do the front because the j-10 axles are a lot wider than a cj. front i think you have to outboard your springs or its a direct bolt on. one of the two. not sure plus gotta be pre 1980 j-10 so that its a passy drop front 44.

you will haveta outboard your springs in the front and probly move the perches on the axle in the rear... rear axle in the truck might be slightly offset, but shouldnt be an issue...

FWIW some people prefer the J-truck axles if you are going to cut and narrow them instead of outboarding.

Since they are wider, they result in a nicer width after cutting compared to cutting a stock waggy axle.

I put a J-truck 44 front in mine. looks like that answers you one and only question.
