I am replacing my windshield hinges and the the bolts that got in the top part (actually into the windshield) have nothing to thread into. What is the best way for getting a nut to stay in that hole so that I can tighten down my hinge. Right now I just have a hole in the metal with no way to get to the back of it. : (

two ways I have seen it done.
1. come in through the side, cut a hole and and tack weld a nut on the inside. then patch the hole
2. cut a rectangle hole around where the bolt hole(s) are. cut another piece of metal with the holes pre-drilled, weld two nuts on the inside, lay it up there getting a good fit, and then weld it back into place. Grind weld, grind weld, until you can't tell it was ever done. Just be careful to get the holes in the right place.
