OK...who wheels with their dog??

We got a new to us, 2yo, 75# mix. He's been wheeling in the 715 now (between us on the bench seat), but we are thinking about taking the CJ next time...

Where does your dog ride?? I got the 2 forklift tanks in the back, and am thinking of a platform (padded, with side bolsters) on top of the tanks.

Man, I wanna bring my mix bad, but I'm paranoid about him. He's a little skitzo already and I think in an emergency or a roll-over he'd just get himself hurt.

My S-Blazer truggy has kinduva good spot where the back-seats used to be, but I haven't committed yet.

I'd be interested to see if there was a good harness system somebody posts up

My biggest dog freaks out if the ride is too rough, he's been down the beach a couple of times, but otherwise he's a house pup. The two females would have to greet everyone else on the trail, chase any random animal down to lick it, and if I did flop it one of thier heads would be out the window when it happened. Therefore mine stay home, they get the parade rides and the occasional boat trip...

My lab sits in pass seat and bites ppl that think they have shotgun...lol

I used to take my pooches wheeling until I went up daniel and tramatised one of my pooches Lennon. after that riding of any kind was no fun for him. I would advise securing him so that he can't jump out, and don't do any severe wheeling with the pooch. Remember he trusts you to do the right thing for him...

I have 2 boxers.... Way back when I had the zj I took them with me once and 1 was scared to death of the bumps but the other loved it.... Now the scared one doesnt like to ride and the other jumps up and down at the word ride.

My English Bulldog rides with me every time. He just kinda surfs along in the back. I bought a harness and tie-down point from here --> http://www.buckleuppup.com/ (doh, just noticed 98jeeptj just posted it too) But it's a great harness and I have no worries about his safety any more.

I'll post up pics of my last trip soon.

He is quite a bit bigger now. He likes to ride but not much offroad. ^ i like the harness sites/pics..something to look into.

Mine can't stand to be tied and will chew thru anything she thinks is holding her.Seatbelts ,Tops etc. She loves to ride but she will wedge herself between the front seats if the going gets rough.
