jeep front diff

looking at buying a 85 cherokee 4 cyl 5 speed the guy says he hit a ditch and that a garage told him the front diff was bent he says you can run 35 or 40 mph and when you hit a hole the DEATH WOBBLE happens anybody got any suggestions on what it could be and if parts are interchangeable off of what year or years of cherokee..........bump for suggestions

any of the years of a cherokee should interchange... it sounds like worn out ball joints... the axle could be bent, but i would worry some about the unibody too, if that were the case...
