Hoping someone can help. I am stationed in okinawa japan and just purchased a 1995 jeep by mitubishi. It looks the same as the old 70's cj. Anyways, I am trying to find an equivalent year that was american made so that I can buy the parts I want to get her for playing in the trails. The communication barrier here is a little tough and getting what I want is even harder. I figure if I just order from the states it would be easier but maybe a little costlier. Not too many junk ones of these around here. Any way, the one I got looks just like the one in the picture. Thank You for any input you may share.

I use to have a parts guy out past Kadena that actually spoke some English and could get me the things I needed. If you can link up with someone that speaks Okinawan there it will help a lot. Might check the repair center on Foster and see if one of the locals can hook you up. I know out the gate by the American legion you turn right and there was a small shop that did cars but the guys spoke English. might check with them. Not sure if I helped at all but hopefully. Actually there is a guy on here that is Married to an Okinawan Lady that still has family there. Maybe he will chime in. He was selling some CJ-7 stuff. His name is Jason and he just sold a Jeep called freak. Good luck

The guys user name is JDARROW

INFANTRY YJ is still there also... pretty sure this isn't his first trip to the rock. Not sure where he's at (betting it's Hansen), but since he's been there for almost 3 years, he may have some resources for you...

OH, and for Brent, John, & Galen :fuck-you:

What base are you stationed at? I have a college buddy that lives in Okinawa and his dad is a life time military guy over there.. Shot in the dark but his name is Kentaro Morrison but goes by Ken. If you ever run into him tell him to email his East TN buddies. hah.

Also sweet lookin jeep.

I am located on MCAS futenma. I had to get someone that could speak english and japanese in order to buy it since it was from a local. That was an event trying to buy it.

So, a cj-3b is what I should look for if buying from the states?

If I can figure out how to download pictures from my computer, I will change the photo below to show the actual jeep.
