jeep springs in a ranger

Can u put jeep TJ springs under the front of a 88 ranger 4x4 just wondering if anyone knows anything about this or has done this wanting 31's under my DD.

I have heard of people doing this and it worked but the down side is if you lift it to much without installing the drop brackets the steering and susp. geometry will be off so bad you will not want to drive it around the block

I had a 85 ranger that could clear a 32'' tire on a 7'' rim with a 3'' body lift
and minor trimming of front fender corners.
