Getting ready to build the wiring harness and dash for my jeep project. What will I need to make it pass inspection. This is an '83 CJ7. The Dash will just be some flat sheet metal.

My plan is not to run any power to the column. Run a hiden battery cut off and then put everything on switches in the dash.
Switches so far:
Head lights
Blinkers
Hazards
Horn
Rock lights
Perhaps pre wire for a winch?

Do I need wippers?

What else is needed for tech inspection? I know that brake lights need to be on the list as well, but they are not on a switch.

Thanks Michael

Will it pass an inspection with no windshield?

If your gonna drive it at all. you'll want wipers. I does rain her. although not alot recently.

The only thing you need on the dash to pass inspection is a blue light for hi-beam indicator and 2 green for L/R blinkers.
Odometer/speedometer is not required.

looks like everyone's got wipers covered.

Need a horn.

Marker lights/blinkers, with reflectors, are required all the way around, but usually only front and rear lights are checked.
Hi/Lo beam headlights.
NO reverse lights are required.

Well I have a wiper assembly but it is still in MI. I didn't have room on the last trip back. Probably won't be bringing back down till after July.

Just tryign to figure out the basic's for it to pass inspection. I could always register it in MI and avoid all of this if that is the best or easiest way to do it.

Thanks guys.

What else would you wire it for?

Heated seats are in the plans! Just need to figure out how to do it. I am going to prewire for them though!
