Ok, my problem is I always forget to turn the headlights off unless it's dark. I need that chime so when it's daylight when I get to work I remember to turn the lights off.

I did some searches and found it's related to fuse 4. I installed that fuse and now the dome light works with the passenger door but not the driver door.

I pulled the door jamb switch and jumped in case it was a bad switch. Still no dome light.

I looked under the dash and found these two wires cut. I circled the connector that it goes to. The first connector has "26" on it and attaches to the side of the jeep with a bracket. The wire is light blue and white. The second connector has "40" on it adn the wire is much bigger than the others. It is black with white. This is in a 2004 TJ with 4.0 and manual trans.

Can anyone give me an ideal what these wires go to? Any ideals on why the drivers door doesn't make the dome light work? Any ideals on why the chime doesn't work for the headlights?

The blue with white wire should be AC, does the Jeep have ac?

The black wire with the white stripe, is a ground from the PCM that runs to your gauges, and alot of other electrical items, dome light, included, through a CCD BUS
So that black/white wire could be your trouble

here is a pinout for a 1997, 4 cylinder, but Jeep used a CCD BUS through 2004

Thanks. It does have AC and I think it works fine. I took the guages off to see if there were any other problems and to check on a bulb that occasionally flickers. I found this below. It's the same color on the blue and white but there's also a blue and green.

The big black and white wire goes to HBL relay under the hood and from what I can find on wiring diagrams that would be power out. This would be for rear defrost.

I found the same blue and white on the relay although no continuity I believe all these mystery wires are related to hard top option wiring. I also found a cut wire behind the glovebox which went to fuse 4.

All problems are resolved.
