Jeep XJ Help!

I was working on my project jeep the other day and was cleaning the throttle body out and I slipped with a wrench and busted a piece of vacuum hose. It goes into the side of the throttle body and runs from there to a little thing mounted on the firewall. What is it and where could I find a replacement vacuum hose for it. I managed to rig up a vacuum hose out of the pieces left but it won't fit back into the side of the throttle body  It's really making the Jeep run like crap. It sounds like the Jeep has a good sized cam in it when idling. I haven't attempted to drive it. Thanks for the help!

plug the vacuum leak on the throttle body side and it should run better. Not sure what it goes to in the firewall, but that should make it run better.

I had the same problem with mine. I had to rig up a piece of vacuum hose for mine also. Can you get a picture of what the vacuum hose plugs into on the firewall? Maybe that'd help.

i already plugged the vacuum leak and that did nothing. this is an '88 model renix 4.0 just for reference.

If it helps you can stop by and look at mine. other than that, I'd say just find another hose and reconnect.

I found this Diagram for a 1990 model 4.0 which is basically the exact same as mine it's all Renix. The diagram shows that the vacuum line is coming from the MAP sensor. Is there anything I can do about this? It's really causing the Jeep to run like shit. Plugging the leak didn't work. I guess I'm going to have to pull a vacuum hose off of another Jeep at a junkyard or something because they don't make a replacement vacuum hose. Here's the link...

Is it the one on the valve cover side that has a bolt holding it in?

I'm almost certain he's talking about the plug on the side of the throttle body. It's a little rubber boot that has two holes(one of top of the other). The bottom hole has a vacuum line running to it from the map sensor mounted on the firewall. I know this because I need one also. I had to rig one up and run it into something else to get the vacuum it needed. I'm having the damndest time finding the vacuum hose!

when i first go my renix xj the vacuum system was all to hell...best bet is to get to the auto store get some hard line and rubber line and just start redoing just about the entire system if most of yours is intact it shouldnt be hard just replace one at a time....your rough run could be from more than one vacuum leak good luck

I'm 100% certain it's just that vacuum hose. My Jeep was running excellent before this happened. I was just going to clean the throttle body out because it was full of carbon gunk and as I was loosening a bolt the wrench slipped and hit the vacuum hose on the side of the throttle body and it busted all to hell. The Jeep wouldn't even crank with no vacuum coming from the map sensor going to the side of the throttle body. So I know that's what it is. Thanks though.

I understand its the vacuum hose in the throttle body, I was asking if it was the one on the valve cover side of the TB. I have a junk cherokar going to the scrapyard tommorrow and I was gonna pull what he needed and give it to him if it is still there. But I need to know exactly which one
