Jon Boat Registration

Anyone know if I need to get a Jon boat registered thats 12 ft long and running a 5 hp motor and a trolling motor? Ill be running it on Badin at the biggest.

If I remember correctly, if you're using a gasoline motor than yes, it needs to be registered.

mike is right. If you have a motor on it, it must be registered in NC

It also applies to anyone using an electric trolling motor - friend of mine found out the costly way - no slack was given for ignorance.

Thanks fellas. And yeah you have to take that class/test or whatever if you have a motor over 10 hp. So I'm good with the big ole 5.0 Mercury haha
