So I guess Joshua died this weekend sometime, Friday might maybe? Dunno how true it is, cant find much information..

Thought some of the Alumni here should know the most badass crazy homeless man passed away. I want to start a movement to have him buried on Stanford mall :beer:
 
Oh no, that is so sad to hear. He was actually a really nice guy and every student knew who he was.

Exactly, so thats why I think he should be buried on Stanford mall. I dunno who really to contact about it. I doubt he had any family. I think we should take up a student fund to get a headstone with one of his stories on it.
 
Weird guy. Tried to buy him a box of donuts one time to be nice and get the man some food. Told me to "get the hell out of here, i dont need your f*cking charity". Never really cared much for him after that.

We graduated from App in '99, Joshua was a real staple back then. Sorry to hear that.
Problem is... how would we find out the truth to the story?

And IIRC he isn't (wasn't) homeless.

Yeah that was what most people thought. Some days you'd find him in the middle of kings street just yelling about stuff.

There's lots of rumors about whether he was homeless, a former teacher...dunno which ones are true and which arent, but Id tend to believe since he spent the boone winters outside, he was probably homeless.

Called Baptist. HES STILL ALIVE.

Hes in Ardmore Tower Room 466. Any alumni over that way should pay a visit or something.

They dont have a last name for him, he is listed as Joshua Doe. No one knows a single thing about him, and no information can be released without his last name. She confirmed he was still alive, but couldnt tell me anything about what condition he was in.

I'm a little surprised they gave you the room number, they really aren't supposed to do that unless you are family.

Damn if I was still at Baptist I'd at least go by and say hello.

I think she got confused.

I told her Joshua Watauga because thats what the article has him listed as. They have him listed under Joshua Doe and she assumed that Watauga was his real last name, and thus, I was related to him I suppose....

I told her that no one really knows his last name though.
 
it's really sad actually... that this guy is such a well-known staple of Boone, there for 20 years, yet nobody actually knows who he is or anything about his family or history.
I posted this link of my Facebook page for all my app buddies (see FB is actually good for 1 thing... maybe) now seems eveyrbody I know has it linked too. Hopefully the magic of teh interwebs will kick in and something will progress.

I hope he is alright. He kinda reminds me of the mascott Yosef. My friend gave em a ride from University Highlands one year to campus, he peed in the car seat. No more rides for him. But we would buy pet rocks or some of his crazy stories from time to time to help out. Wish em the best!
 
hey guys, im in winston and can get by there to bring cards, flowers, whatnots.

i dont know him but as much as its seems he touched the community in boone.....he should know that people are out there thinking about him and praying for him. Im willing to help.

What while he was in the hospital??!? Man thats f***ed up! Stealing from someone who already has nothing.... Might have to make a trip to Boone and get my CSI on.
