I know about jump starting a car and all but something happened I've never seen.

When pos/neg were hooked up to both cars. Mine, and then a lexus...smoke began to pour out from my battery....like it was frying it.

Never seen or heard of this....car still wouldnt start.

It was jump started just a couple days previous to this incident....

not an answer to your question, but sounds like it needs a new battery anyway... jumpstarted the other day, and now it needs it again.... either that or you got a short or someone that leaves the lights on :D

You are actually supposed to hook the negative lead for the dead car to the engine block or other ground source. Not the negative terminal on the battery. And to answer your question, sounds like you had one set of leads swapped. You're damn luck you didn't fry the lexus. Most newer cars don't like to be jump started with cables. They prefer a jump box. Much less likely to fry a computer that way.
