Hey ya'll.

I've been looking and looking for a junkyard or pull-a-part place in NC that would have a hp30 from an XJ. Do ya'll know of any that would have it cheap? The cheapest I've found is 250, plus the gas to get there.

Try car-part.com and open the search to all southeast. Most yards will ship, just be really cool and they might not break you on it.

Have you tried Nine's about 20 miles north of you?

Do you have any contact info for them?

And as for car-part, I have tried using that, but the cheapest on there is 250. That's where I've located the couple I've pursued.

Have you tried Young's in Goldsboro. Every saturday from 9-1 they have a deal where if you can get it across the length of the scale ( under your own power) you leave with it for $40

Nines Auto Parts. He is in the phone book. Old school redneck place right down the road from the house. Had several XJ's last time I looked a couple months ago.

This play may be a little too far from you. They are located in Marion, NC and deal with mainly 4x4's. J and T Auto

Along those lines, you could also try 21 Motors, outside of Yadkinville. They'd have to ship... but they're nice guys.
They only do trucks and have lots of them, and have a pretty high turnover rate.

Please explain this "deal" a little more, can I use help getting it out of the vehicle?
If so Im going BBC shopping...
I mean you can drag a lot across the length of a scale, hell I'll put air in a tire or two and puch a few vehicles across....

has to be carried across the scale off the ground. you can drag stuff to the scale, use waggons, wheel barrels, what ever, but once you get to the scale it has to be carried off the ground. you can use help but they have to pay also. it starts at like 8:00 in the morning till noon, if your not across the scale by noon you lose your money and parts.

i'm showing like 4 different locations in your link, but it looks like it's the one in dudley (i think). also relize that this junk yard is split they have two different lots, and one is off limits dureing the saturday deal, and what they have in the other gets pretty picked through. last time i was there i think there was an XJ but i'm pretty sure the shafts were yanked. that was a month or two ago though maybe they moved some junk around.

yea, it's in dudley. cool place. they just crushed a bunch of older yotas

but the deal is do whatever you need to get it off the truck and to the scale. then you must carry it appx 50' w/o stopping or setting it down. if you do then it's another $40.

back in my bronco II days I carried a complete Explorer D35 front end out by tying the diff side to my chest with a seatbelt I cut and carrying the "light" side by the coil. it hurt but I got it for $40. oh yeah, I'm a twig so that was a feat
