Finally got another project vehicle! I spent all summer going to URE with my 4 wheeler because I sold my TJ last fall. I started the spring with a CJ but one trip to the trails told me that was not what I wanted in a trail rig. So after the CJ's first trip to the trails it was sold!
So I have been patiently waiting a looking for a good deal on a 4.0 5 speed TJ. I believe I found it with my new toy it is 2000 TJ 4.0 with 100,000 (Got it for $6500). It currently has a Procomp 2" inch lift with firestone 31X10.50.

Plans for the winter include:
4" lift with adjustable control arms
35X12.50 tires
8.8 upgrade (never mind it has a D44 so the 8.8 would be pointless)
4.88 gears
and of course a winch and rock guards

Compared to most builds I have been following on here this is going to be pretty boring thread. But I am just excited to have a project vehicle for the winter and ultimately another good trail rig for next spring.

awesome thread cant wait to see this thing in peices !
Sorry it nots going to be that exciting just removing one lift and doing another bolt in lift. As the title of the thread states it is just a typical TJ beef up project. It will be a daily driver during the week but on the weekends it will be very trail capable.
I did manage to finish the front today, man the RC contol arms are a lot more beefy then the stock.

 Holy thread exposure. Was that the final length you set your links at?

Believe or not that is only 3/8 longer then stock. I guess that is one down fall to the kit they made all the control arms the same length even though the driverside is one inch longer then the passenger. I checked it and there is still 2" of thread inside the shaft so I'm guessing it will be fine.

you will be happy with that lift

I had the older versioin of the lift in my last TJ and it road great and flexed like crazy that is why I went with it. RC has improveved the kit greatly from two years ago. It now comes with an adjustable front track bar, stainless steal extended break lines and the new control arms are awsome. I can wait to try it on the trails!

Can you clarify this statement about lengths. The control arms should be the same length on both sides of the Jeep. This goes for the uppers also. If you put them in there with different lengths your alignment is going to be terrible.

My driverside lower control arm is one inch longer then passenger as you can see in the pic.

Something is not right with that. They should be the same length. I'm guessing a previous owner made that change. I'm guessing that one of the arms is off of another vehicle like a XJ, ZJ, MJ, etc. They are obviously different different arms as one has holes and the other does not.

I would recommend that you set the length of the arms on the bench then install them on the Jeep. Then when you make any adjustments for caster or wheelbase you extend or shorten the arms equal turns. This is how I have always done it and I have probably lifted close to 50 TJ's.

Thank you for keen observation of my photos and thread. I just measured from the back of the tire to my fender well and the drives side is 3/4 of inch further forward then the passenger. I know that is not an accurate way to measure but it tells me there is a problem with my axle placement.

This is the third one of these lifts I have installed, however it has been 2 years since I did one so I did not remember the lengths of the control arms. I've always just measure the arm I am removing and adjust my length based on RC recommendations. Makes me wonder how the PO managed to get it aligned, it did not drive bad at all so they must have gotten it close. Oh well it is an easy fix especially since I haven't had it aligned yet.

I checked them all, three were 15 7/8 center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole and one was 16 7/8 center to center.
