1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0, engine had 107k & was rebuilt. Should I use a certain oil for break-in? And if there is a certain oil to use for break-in should I use it for the full 3k oil change interval or change it sooner? I always used Castrol GTX 10w-30 in it for the time I've owned it & didn't know if I should switch after the rebuild. Thanks.

I've always just run regular Valvoline or Castrol GTX in a 10-30 weight. I change it at 500 miles, 1,500 miles and then 3,000 miles. After that go to 3k oil changes.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the price tag range. Mine zj has 185k on it and its gonna be times sooner or later. Thanks Feel free to PM me

Look at Royal Purple's site. They offer a break in oil for flat tappet cam engines. Other performance oil makers offer similar products IE Lucas, Redline. Directions are on the package or the web site.
