First off, it's an 86, lifted about 4 inches. It turns all the way to the left but won't turn but a little to the right. I haven't drove this thing a mile yet so don't ask if it always did it cause I ain't got a clue. I'm lost. Should I just drive it off a cliff and be done with it or what?

Give me a call - I PM'd you my number about the free tires.

Does it have cross-over steering, or stock?

With the 4-inch lift, does it have a raised steering arm? A dropped pitman arm?

Does it do this all the time, or only when flexing the front suspension?

What makes it "stop"? Like can you feel a hard stop when turning the wheel, or will it just not move any farther?

I figured it out, but no it does not have the drop pitman arm and it probably needs it. I need to put on the crossover steering on it too. Carman, I was wondering if you had any bolts for the sway bar. I tried to call but I think I called the wrong number, I might swing by there sometime this week. For DJ I'll get some more pics of it as soon as I find my camera, which is MIA.

I *might* have some swaybar bolts - you mean the big ones that bolt into the U-bolt plates on the front springs? I'll have to look - I just threw some in a scrapped car, but I may have some more.

I'll PM you my number again.

I got a set of ORD quick disconnects I would sell if you need them.
Sway bar and all the goodies to if needed.

Jon, I'm interested in that. PM me what you want for them. I'd like them for my Burb.

CJ-USA - I *do* have the swaybar bolts you need, found them last night. Give me a call if you want to come out and get them some time.

when i put a rough country 4 inch lift kit on my 86 fullsize GMC Jimmy, i had the same problem. i had about 2 1/2 turns to the left and about 3/4 turn to the right. i thougth it was the new steering arm hitting the top of the balljoint bolt that was stopping it from turning all the way to the right, but it turned out that the new steering arm which came with the lift kit was actually about an inch longer than the factory one, so we ended up having to adjust the draglink to make it longer, and it steered fine after that.
