I work at the Advance Auto that's on Poplar Tent, about 1-2 miles away from this intersection. Earlier this evening a woman came in to buy some cleaner and asked if we knew anyone who may have seen this accident. We had heard of a bad wreck in that area a couple of weeks ago, but didn't hear anything else. After asking if she was involved in it and if she may have been involved in some type of hit and run or something, she informed us behind her tears that it was her son who was involved and the accident killed him. Not only that, but not one person who was at the busy intersection at the time (8:15PM) stopped to help/talk to the officers who later arrived.
The question that remains unanswered is who had the green light. All the family is looking for is someone who was there at the time to come forward with any information they may have to help police and give the family closure in this tragic situation. If you have any information pertaining to this accident, please contact the police at the number listed at the end of the article.
