Fawk these things hurt worse than I could ever imagine. I looovvveeee Percoset though. First at 36 and my Dad has had between 12-15 of them in hiss life. Yeah genetics:shaking:

Damn that sucks man. Good luck with it.

I know what you're saying man...my dad's had them several times and even had to get 2 of them broken up using the fancy lazy beam...haha. He's 45 and apparently decided to pass that genetic problem on to me...I'm 23 and have had 2 bouts...luckily nothing too extreme...but it's never fun pissing razor blades.

I'm almost 29 now and im up 12 stones at last count. My dad is 58 and has had one his whole life. I don't buy the genetics thing either.

water in NC has a high mineral content, bottled or at least filtered water will help.

I've had stones as well, and since I started filtering my water they seem to have been a lot less frequent.

My dad had to have surgery 2 years ago to remove a stone that was a little larger than a golf ball from his kidney. His water is very high in lime content ( a water heater last 10yrs max before the lime has built up to the point there is no hot water reserve in the tank, new water heater goes in weighing about 100lbs, comes out weighing about 350lbs from the lime build up ) Dr.s told dad to start filtering his water or drink bottled.

Ive had - and no $hit- about 60+. Ive been cut open 3 times, litho more than I can count and Ive got speed dial to my urologist on both work and cell phone. my parents send the receptionist at my doctor Christmas cards since they always work me in no matter what. I actually started taking a low dose of blood pressure medicine and it damn near stopped the formation (or slowed it tremendously), but Ive still got 3 1mm diameter ones left from the last litho. Ive passed a few that wouldnt go down a urinal filter thingy- so Im bored out bigger than you can imagine. to me, passing them is GREAT- its easy pain, costs nothing and is only a hassle for a minute. try getting your back cut open to pull one of those mothers out and youll enjoy it and run around happy like its your birthday. the worst is when one clogs up your ureter and your bladder swells up for hours on end- now THAT my friends is hell.

I know your pain, I am 33 years old and had over 50 stones and a couple of surgerys. By chance do you have any additional kidney diseases? I have Polycystic Kidneys and that's the cause of mine.

nope, and no genetic pre-disposition.

i feel ya.

ive had two. in the past 5 years. slept through the first one in the hospital. wrestled the last one out without the help of pain killers. I dont really like taking pain killers but im not sure if i would do that again.

i have a family history of it on my dads side so i guess i have these to look forward to.

my buddy used to have them really bad and the doctor told him to drink a beer a day with supper to keep his kidneys flushed out. so far its really helped him.

I've never had any, but after hearing Chuck's stories, I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight...
