Several days ago, I kept hearing a kitten whine, but figured it was one of the strays that lives in the woods and eats at the dumpster at the school across the street and was just calling its momma. Then a day or so later, my wife heard it and went to look for it (I call my wife "crazy cat lady"). Anyway, it was in the storm drain! I looked in the storm drain and couldn't see it. She called the sheriff and the animal officer came out. He got in the storm drain but didn't find it. He said that a lot of cats live in those and it should be able to get out.
Last night, I saw some people looking at the drain, so I walked outside and it was the fire department! A lady that works at the school called the fire department and they got the kitten out! Well, I should have just kept my @ss in the house instead of walking over there, because now we have that kitten. Not sure if we'll keep it, but it needed some TLC last night.

pics of the rescue kitten

Here's some pics. Right now it is still really timid, but it does purr when you hold it and get it to relax.

Good deal. Thanks for helping out! I hope it doesn't turn out mean as hell; feral cats can get progressively meaner as they get older, even if you took them in as kittens.

meanest cat my family ever owned we bottle fed as a kitten. It grew up to be a beast and mean. i had many small battles with this particular cat until one day his fighting days got the best of him. he got an infection from a wound to the chest. Lungs filled up with fluid and that was it.

Harry Harlow strikes again.

I ended up with a cat in a similar manner. It was up a tree at my buddy's house and I climbed the tree to get it out. When I got down out of the tree with it, my buddy's neighbor was looking at me. I asked her if it was her cat and she said no but she was glad I got it out of there because since her dog chased it up the tree 4 days ago he's been waiting at the bottom of the tree for it to come down. She left the friggin' cat up the tree for 4 days and she left her dog outside at the base of the damn tree for 4 days.

Anyway, my ex-wife was a crazy cat lady so needless to say we ended up with it. When we divorced I made sure my lawyer put in the separation and divorce agreement that she took the cats and I got the dog. My lawyer told me because Orange County puts a tax on dogs, the dog did need to be in the agreement but the cats didn't. The hell they don't, I told her, you make sure it's in the agreement because I don't want to get stuck with them.

Ive got 3 that way and they are pretty cool.

Our 4-year-old has named the kitten "Lilly Lightning". She loves that kitten and the kitten has really taken a liking to her.

Damn....cant help but think about the tax money spent on getting the cat out of a drain pipe....

I have some good recipes if you would like to exchange them, I love cat

Yeah, I thought about that too (we did not call the fire dept, someone else did). I guess it cost a few gallons of diesel for the firetruck to sit there and idle.
In college we'd get rid of telemarketers by telling them a siamese cat just ran by and we got to catch it because the Chinese restaurant paid extra for siamese!

LOLz....

not just the diesel but response pay etc.
