Anyone have any experience with the original km's the ones that come on jk's. I'm about to head back up to school. We are in the time of year where it snows about every other day up there. I know my firestone destination ats did great but I'm wondering how I should expect the BFG km's to do?

Another question how much good does airing down do in the snow?

Depends on what you mean by snow. If it's 18" deep our more, airing down will help floatation and get you up on top of the drifts.

If it's regular old NC snow, you're better off with something with a lot of siping for street driving, but the KMs do all right.

Tires with the most siping will work best but the KMs aren’t bad. You’ll be fine. In most cases I find an MT tire isn’t that great off the line and spins a bit but once the momentum is up, they’re fine. My Toyo RT’s are the same way. Large tread blocks minimal siping but once they’re moving and cleaning out they’re great.

If you get stuck just pin it and hold on :D

The AW4 is a tough SOB so don’t worry about hitting “R” and “D” back and forward while still moving.

Fo sho! Accidentally went from D to R going 15-20mph once when in high school. (Distracted and goofing off with friends) It locked up the rear tires and choked the engine off. Put it in neutral and fired it up. I was scared to death I had ruined something but I never had a moments trouble out of that transmission. Hydrolocking the motor and hitting a tree were not as forgiving though...

Thanks for all of the input. Looks like we ain't going to get snow again for a few weeks supposedly.

So R doesn't stand for race gear once you are over 45mph? Looks like I've been doing it all wrong.

We got snow and ice. And the tires are doing amazing.
