we have a 2001 land rover disco 2 series. it has had over heating issues. the heat does not work unless the car is running with higher rpms, when your on the gas. It seems like the coolant is not flowing at all. we took apart the whole cooling system and flushed it with a hose in various sectoins but we did the whole thing. everything flowwed through perfectly fine and we ran it through for a minute or so on each part. radiator, block, heater core etc. everything ran through fine with no blocks. it has a new thermostat that works and new water pump that works. what could it be??

So it overheats AND has no heat? Maybe a bad water valve and a bad fan clutch.

Does it overheat if you leave the expansion tank cap off? If the water pump and tstat are good, and the cooling system isnt clogged, there is no other restriction to coolant flow. When the coolant level is low, or there is an air pocket in the system, these vehicles will have no heat, then overheat. Overheat it one too many times, and you will be looking at a head gasket job. I deal with these daily, and sell LR parts and will be happy to help as much as possible. If you get fed up with it I am also interested in buying it.

air bubble we fixed it but we are also interested in selling it pm me for details and ill get you my dads cell number so you can talk to him about it

I know your problem was resolved, but for future reference crown14 forgot to mention the bypass valve at the thermostat housing.

It sends the hot water away from the radiator and back into the block. if this valve breaks or sticks, then you have water flowing through the block and the heater core. so you over heat and still have hot air in vents.
