Yea, with that machine you can really destroy a floor in just a few seconds. It weighs about 250#'s. This machine is only about 3 years old so it is pretty user friendly. It can be broken down in about 1min to allow the motor and frame to come apart and make it easier to go up and down stairs. Also has transport wheels so you can move it across pavement/gravel without harming the urethane wheels (no scratching/maring the floors like the old steel wheels). Also has a cool base that is bolted into the van that cradles the drum and wheels so they will not flat spot. $6500 new 3 years ago. About 7k or so now.
BTW, that is my brother in law in the pic, not me.
How hard is it to match flooring that has been down for 20 years? I would like to knock out a wall between two rooms to make one large one (one has hard wood the other has vinyl flooring) but did not want to replace all the hardwood already down.
Easy if you don't have to weave it in. Time consuming if you have to weave a large area, but like anything once you have done a mile or two of it it's no big deal.
