Hey all, just a little tid bit I discovered over the weekend. If you have a late model GM truck/van (see list below) you can substitute in the > 9600# brake rotors and they work just fine. Most 2500 and 3500 SRWs are ~9600# vs a DRW being higher.
The rotors are the top hat slip on style, abd both are dimensionally the same in OD and overall rotor thickness.
The difference being, the heavier GVRW both halves are thicker with the middle part where air fins/vanes are sandwiched is thinner by ~1/4" So that's 1/8" thicker on each half. That can help a good bit with warping.
The cost was $8 more for the heavier rotors, but they had a discount, promotion if you got pads at the same time you save some $$, so it worked out about the same.
