Im looking to lift my truck and its becoming impossible to find a kit specifically for mine :poop: so im wandering if anyone would take the time to tell me what all i need to lift a truck because i think im going to have to put it together piece by piece :confused:

and also if nyone could tell me a place that can make me a kit like a FAB. shop or something im located near winston salem nc.. thanks

I would start by checking with a dealership to see how much of that trucks suspension is interchangeable with an f150 of the same year.

Talk to MarsFab on here, he may be able to help you with a custom lift.

The light duties don't have the solid axle do they? I looked around for a lift kit for them but could only find leveling kits. Looks like no one makes one. Perhaps there is a reason?

Personally I wouldn't bother lifting it that high. I'd throw a 2.5" leveling kit on it and be done. Use it for a tow rig and get you a capable trail rig.

Well Im not for sure on this but I would say the light duty 250's probably use larger spindle bearings and have a different front diff. That probably means your not gonna find one. As far as making one you would have get new front knuckles made that are six inches taller than the factory ones. The rest of the kit could probably be interchanged. On GM vehicles you can drop the upper control arms with bracketry and use the stock spindles but with the Fords the upper control arms sit above and inside the top of the frame rail so a drop down bracket would move them out too far and you would have really positive camber. I think your pretty much S.O.L. Making front spindles is not something I would really want to tackle but some of the guys on here might want to take you up on the challenge.

one word. solid axle swap.

I saw that lift too and was gonna post it but he said he wanted 6". Couldn't find a 6" to save my life! Do the 4" or do a solid axle swap as was mentioned. :)

thanks for all your help ... and marsfab your right the f250 do have larger spindles and heavier duty hubs but everything else in the back is interchangable with a f150...

next question how expensive and how hard is it to do a front axle swap?

better question, how much you wanna spend?

^^^^^^ and what size tire are u wantin to run....?

the sas swap on these trucks and the f150s of the same body style 97-03 are extremely difficult to do cuz of the front cross member. I have done a lot of research into the swap it can be done but not quite as easy as previous generation f150s or chevy trucks
