***Lift related law/statute clarification please***

I would like some clarification on lift related laws/statues. Would like (but not limited to) responses from officers, lawyers, people that have been cited or warned & any one pretty knowledgable about the facts (I know people on here are).
1. Bumper- I'm 99% sure there's no law for them, ergo no "bumper height law"
2. Fender coverage- 99% sure no law for it.
3. Lift height- not exactly sure. I've read GS§ 20-135.4 & apparently as long as it's built on a truck chassis or equipped for occasional off road use ya can lift them as high as ya want (as long as it's under 13' 6")??? Please clarify
4. Headlight height- 42"s again not sure. Please clarify.
5. Park/Ebrake- does it have to be mechanical? Please clarify.
I'm sure I'll think of some thing else, post when I do. Thanks for any & all help.

headlight height- im not sure of. i know the lights have to shine down on the road a certain distance from the vehicle. and as long as it is road legal/pass inspection, whats illegal?

Yeah, I read though all those posts & nothing really clarifies Headlight height or the part in GS§ 20-135.4 about "except".
Straight from one of the posts in that section-Top of page 5 first post
What are the placement laws for aux lights? I know you can only have two, and per §20-131.b. headlamps cannot be placed over 42 inches, but the best I could tell, that only applies to the headlamps. I was unable to find a height restriction for aux lights other than "not project a glaring or dazzling light to persons in front of the vehicle" and being placed downward (§20-131.d.)
And a little bit further in....
GS_20-135.4 specifically exempts vehicles modified for off road use.
Definitions. – For the purposes of this section, the term "private passenger automobile" shall mean a four‑wheeled motor vehicle designed principally for carrying passengers, for use on public roads and highways, except a multipurpose passenger vehicle which is constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off‑road operation.
So I am still clear to go for the BDS 6.5" lift kit so I can fit 35". 37" if I trim a little.
You could also search the statue numbers and get the whole legal explanation.

So from what I gather from GS§ 20-131 (b). My bright portion of headlamp "beam" passing through lamp center can be no higher than 42"s @ 75' away? Not 42"s right infront of vehicle?

The part in 'GS§ 20-135.4 (c) Repealed by Sessions Laws 1975, c. 856' is for what being repealed, part (b)???

if none of the main bright portion of the headlamp beams rises above a horizontal plane passing through the lamp centers parallel to the level road upon which the loaded vehicle stands, and in no case higher than 42 inches, 75 feet ahead of the vehicle.

so if you were to shine you lights on a wall 75' in front of you.... no light should be hitting it above 42"

some magazines

you may also want to check out the newstand. i just saw a mag the other day. i beleive it was petersons off road or 4 wheel off road the cover has a laws an regs section for the southeast, NC SC GA FL an KT if that helps.

Thanks for heads up.

So part (a) Definitions of GS§20-135.4 is still law? Just trying to make sure because part (b) has nothing there & part (c) says Repealed in 1975. Wanna make sure part (d) doesn't supercede part (a). Thanks for all the input guys.

Just as an aside, remember that if you pass through any other state, you are subject to THEIR laws while you are there. So if at all possible its a good idea to try and conform to, say, TN, VA, and SC too.
