most likely you will have to do a sye and a rear driveshaft to get rid of vibrations... I hate body lifts, but if tou were wanting to run 35s, go w/ the 4'' lift and a 1'' body lift. W/ it being a RC lift, that will give you plenty of room to run 35s. Plus that 4'' lift comes w/ the transfer case drop, which "should" keep driveline vibrations down..
 
putting a body lift on it you wouldn have to do anything, my jeep had a body lift i took it off, i just put a 4 inch rough country x series lift on my buddys and its got 34 s on it and clears good
 
Anything over a 1" body lift on a tj looks ridiculous though, fwiw. You do have to take care of the radiator shroud and tcase shifter as well.
 
to the OP, I am sure you know this but a coil spring spacer is different from a body lift. As long as you extend your spring retainer, a coil spring spacer is fine to run.

You are right about the 6" vs 4" I have had both a 4 and a 6 both had the 3" BL to get bigger tires in there. One had the SYE and DS and the other just had the TC drop. The biggest issue I had was the TC bracket. I had it on one and not on the other and it sucked not having it.
 
Looking at that lift you will need some extended brake lines, a new track bar for the front a drop pitman arm at the least and possibly some more things.
 
Might want to get adjustable control arms with the lift if you are planning on putting on coil spacers also. The best idea would be to just get a six inch lift and then the lift would be built right for six inches instead of built for four and having to put up with six inches. Everytime I have seen somebody, including myself, add more lift onto a rig something goes wrong because the parts they have are made for a smaller lift. It will be more expensive but you won't run into problems down the road.
 
There's a bit more to running 6" of lift on a tj than bumpstop extensions.


Agreed, at 6" of lift there is a lot that must be taken into consideration, most notable is recentering the axles in my opinion; I was just making sure the OP knew the diff b/w a body lift and a coil spacer, and that there was nothing wrong with a coil spacer (in general).

If your gonna run 35" tires and actually use the jeep for some trail riding, your going to have more problems to worry about than some tire rubbing.
 
Does the lift come with an adjustable front track bar? If not you will need one. With a 6 inch lift the control arms that come with the 4 inch kit may be a little short which will result in front end vibration at around 45 mph. Trust me
 
I ran the 4" RC lift on my 97 TJ. I only ran 33's but it was fine. Mine came with a drop pitman arm, and the tranny drop brackets. I used the tranny drop brackets but not the drop pitman arm. I had no vibrations with this setup when I ran it. I personally don't like BL's but I don't think you can run 35's on the 4" RC alone.
 
Im about to install a 4in skyjacker single flex lift using 3.5 RE springs on my 99 and a 1in body lift and 1in motor mount lift Im doing this instead of the coil spacers cause If you ever plan on doing a hi clearance skid plate/crossmember like the one from 33engineering everthing will be in place.
