lifted xj question

its a 6.5" rustys lift, I just put it on and the rear springs still seem stiff so it might be a little more, I have another cherokee with about 5" lift and the cables are no wear near as tight. i have thought about taking the cables off all together but its a 5 speed and the e brake could come in handy.

yea, i have 6" lift and the factory e brake cable is fine on mine too. don't know what could be going on there.

yea i've already removed the springs that hold them up, and it helped a little bit. It realy is only a problem when it is flexing by the way its a 94

Maybe it got lost in translation or you didn't look very hard.

-brake Cable Pull
The stock threaded rod on the cable pull isn't long enough to hold the cables so it needs to be lengthened. Oddly, I needed to shorten the original rod by about an inch in order for this to work correctly since otherwise the cable pull bracket interfered with the connecting nut. I grabbed a 4" section of 8mm threaded rod, a few nuts, a long connecting nut and some red threadlocker to create this:

Once the length had been worked out, I could add the cable pull and another nut to adjust the length.
