My garage got broken into Thursday during the day sometime while I was at work. Just got done totalling up what was stolen and it's just a couple hundred shy of 20k. They even stole a pair of coveralls I had out there and they even had time to leave me a note(fawking dicks). My garage stays locked all the time and I even went a little farther to keep people out but that just goes to show if they want it bad enough they'll get it. Make sure all your stuff is locked up, I don't want this to happen to anyone else! Also, if anyone has been offered a bunch of craftsman, snap on, gearwrench, dewalt and etc kind of tools from around the triad be skeptical, they may have come from my garage.

that sucks! I hate people that do this kind of thing. I make fun of my dad for sticking screwdrivers through the garage door track along with locking the door. I always say, if they want it bad enough they'll take it!

I'm afraid in this economy we'll see lots of this. And if people are steeling to fund their drug habit they'll take anything that they can cash in!

Yeah, insured but awaiting info as to what they're going to cover etc. I have a red nissan in the garage I've been working and the note said We just wanted to look at your red nissan, didn't steal anything. Then they drew a smiley face and put Love you cousin at the bottom.

That sucks man! Sorry to hear it! You know what they say though. Locks only keep out honest people. An inspired criminal with the right tools can steal just about anything.

Assholes. That's why my shop is a constant cluster-pluck. Somebody breaks in, they'd probably be too confused and scared to get much. The note's kinda weird, though. Hope the cops can do something for you.

if you have time check the local pawn shops. this just happened to my boss recently and the dumb@$$e$ tried to pawn most of it off. they got caught on video selling them too.

edit: he also had some receipts and serial #'s to match up the stolen stuff for the cops

I hate to see this happen to anyone ,even more so this close to home . I feel like I have a secure garage , but stuff like this makes me nervous .

I hope you get your stuff back , or that you have good insurance .

I wondered what the plan was with the shop o' death .

Sorry to hear about this Richard. You check with the neighbors and see if they heard/saw anything?

That really sucks man. I had someone come into my shop a while back and steal all my scrap metal. Didn't steal any tools or anything, just about $100 worth of scrap metal and my trash can. My neighbors know now that if anyone comes to my house when I'm not home, to keep a keen eye on them and call me if need be.
