Looking at this today

what are you looking for in a jeep? Street, Trail, hardcore rig ??

As far as a resto type jeep, that one looks good in the small fuzzy pics.

Your definitely into the YJ price range, they all came with galvanized tubs and will last/hold up better to rust etc.. YJs had better frames, and leaf suspension etc. Might be better start for trail rig.

Your almost into the low end/entry level market of the TJs which will do much better offroad than a stock CJ. Ride better onroad and even be DD material.

Good luck... Don't let the $ burn a hole in your pocket...

Only the 95 YJ's had the galvanized frame and tub

burn baby burn

Money isn't burning a hole yet. It looks clean, and I am going to look at it this afternoon. I save about 1k per month to go to my future rig. I have 4k now, and add to it monthly as I said. I eventually want a jeep cj, yj, or tj 6 or 8 cylinder, 4-6 inch lift for moderate trails and dealing with mud when I go hunting. So these are my options 1. Buy a jeep for 3-4k and then have 1k per month to build it or 2. save 3-4 more months and buy someone elses rig that's already built.

If yo uwant to save $$... buying one already built will almost always be cheaper in the long run. Only time it isn't is if you end up having to redo a bunch of stuff.

IMO, CJ v YJ v TJ is really a quiestion about style/preference over cost. E.g. do oyu want a classic Jeep that has that extra "cool" factor? Go for the CJ. Want a more practical purchase? TJ.
