I am looking for a reliable, cheap mechanic in or around Greensboro to work on my 1985 Jeep CJ7. I just need some basic work done like timing, carb tune, and diagnostics. Jeep runs but is rough and needs to be dialed in. Any help or info would be great. Any suggestions?:driver:

If you don't mind driving about 45 minutes north to Danville. 44MagnumOffroad.com is right on Hwy 29 on the north side of town. There's only a couple-three places I'd ever leave my Jeep to be worked on, and 44Magnum is one.

I don't think she will make it that far until I get her running a little better. I drove it to the gas station yesterday and a backfire had people dropping to the ground.

I know a guy in Archdale (20 min). He has a CJ-7 that he was working on the last time I talked to him. Good, reliable, honest mechanic.
Eddie Whitaker......Whitaker's Auto (Service or Repair)

I havnt had much experience with them but you might want to try Welch 4wd or Spare Time 4wd, not sure which name they are under now. They seemed like good guys that knew what they were talking about when I talked to them.

I called Welch and Cummings. Cummings is a lot cheaper. Probably because it's not an offroad shop. Biggest things I need to do is timing it from top dead center and tune the new carb. Both I have little to no exp in.

Call Cope's garage on Kivette Drive in High Point at (336)883-7212. Ask for Dwight or Ronnie.

Engine Works , Located in Reidsville is the only place I go.
Prices are good and this guy knows his stuff.(he personally has had jeeps, he just sold his CJ 7) 336-342-1303 ask for Mark.
