For those of you who were at the Uwharrie 4x4cross the week before hand ya'll know bout how I spent 2 days strait taking my tranny in an out 4 times in Johnny's Garage in an attempt to regain my forward gears in time for friday/sat. Anyway long story short I have reverse all day long no probs. Put it in forward gears and nothing, there's a slightly small little lurch like it kinda goes in but I can sit there and tac the motor out and get nothin in forward. I have tried 3 different TC's and Two different Trannys and got the exact same problem no matter what part. Which makes me think Tcase, so I drained the fluid in it, no metal peices or anything clean fluid. Havn't cracked it open yet, but I did notice I can move the input gear in and out of the tcase a significant amount, maybe not a whole inch of play but close. So I'm thinking I have a missing c clip or something that when i put it in forward it moves the input enough to not engage the gears?

Or does that theory sound dumb? I did use all used tranny's and TC's when I was swapping things in/out so its possible they were all bad with the same problem but idk . . . .

And does anyone have a link to or a diagram of a chevy np205 exploded so I'll know what to look for when I split it open?

Thanks

Thanks for the link man, I've been inside np241, 231's and 208s but never any of the cast iron tcase's so I guess we'll see what happens, lol.

It's an adventure, when I did my 203/205 a friend helped me with the needles in the 203. Man was I glad he was around. Just rember vasoline will work wonders on holding those little bugger in place, and it will not hurt a thing.

Ricky,
Are TCs reffering to torque converters or transfer cases?
I got confused there.
If you tried different transfer cases, Im gonna be watching to see what this turns out to be....
